Foil emulsion in fabric printing is a very unique printing technique, with this printing technique we can create effects on fabrics that in many cases no other printing technique can create such effects.
There are many different forms of Foil such as blue, green, purple, red… and five colors. When using the Foil effect, we get not only the color of the printed element but also the iridescence through the alufin metal color layer which is very beautiful, eye-catching and luxurious.
Let’s learn to have more knowledge about foil emulsion in fabric printing.
What is emulsion foil in fabric printing?
Foil is a form of material used in the printing industry in general and in the fabric printing industry in particular. It is a thin material coated with a metallic alufin (aluminum) color. There are different types of metallic colors that are processed on a case-by-case basis, all of which have the common feature of producing a printed element with a metallic iridescent effect.
Distinguishing Foil pressed emulsion
Embossing foil is distinguished by the method of technical processing when printing on materials, usually we have two types of foil: hot foil and cold-pressed foil.
Hot pressed foil
Hot-pressed foil is a type of foil that must use the pressure of the press as well as the temperature to make the laminated glue melt, and at the same time, the glue will stick the foil to the surface, creating the foil surface. When using hot-press foil, the print will be more durable, the foil effect is shown brighter, better.
Cold pressed Foil
Cold pressed foil is a foil that does not use heat, only using pressure to push the foil onto the adhesive. This type of foil is more commonly used because it is easy to print because it does not require a heat process. However, in terms of color and durability, it is often inferior to hot foil.
Which type of foil to use will depend on the manufacturer as well as the customer to ensure that the print creates a beautiful effect and increases the value of the product.
